Just yesterday the President addressed the Nation with an update on the Covid-19 virus. Recent news shows that a new variant of the virus has surfaced called Omicron, and reports indicate that a few cases have been recorded in Ghana. Remember when a few cases were recorded in March 2020 only for a lockdown to be imposed later.
It’s #DettyDecember, which means more people coming into Accra and other cities. Imagine all the events having to be shutdown because of a lockdown, what would we do for fun? Here are 5 alternatives in case #DettyDecember castigates.
1. Karaoke with Family.
Karaoke does not always have to be outdoors. You can host a karaoke night with your family with free apps such as Smule, Karaoke by Yokee, Starmaker, etc.
2. Netflix and Chill.
This goes either ways. You can either binge Christmas themed movies with your family or you can “Netflix and Chill” with your special someone. Plan for a whole evening of back-to-back viewing of the movies. Once you have plenty of popcorn and snacks on hand you should be good to go. You can take it a step further and find props that go with the movie and set them out.
3. Costume Night Party.
You can host a Christmas themed party where everyone comes dressed as their favourite bible character and each other person tries to figure out who. At the end, there is food and drinks and two two chicken for everyone, including the children.
4. Game night.
There are a lot of board games available now thanks to the internet and delivery services. You can purchase board games like jenga, scrabble and card games to play with your family. If you want to add little fun to it, you can play drinking games if everyone is an adult.
5. Make Christmas Decorations.
There are several DIY Christmas decorations to try instead of the store-bought one. Aside it being cost efficient, it also gives you bonding time with your family while having fun.
