Award-winning dancehall musician, Shatta Wale is in court today after he turned himself in and was subsequently arrested by the Ghana Police Service.

The musician’s legal troubles come after he reportedly staged that he had been shot and was battling for his life in a hospital, while the alleged gunmen were said to be on the run.

According to him, he did this because a prophet had prophesied that he would be shot on his birthday, October 18 and that he was trying to expose fake prophecies.

However, the Ghana Police Service declared him wanted and after the said pastor was held in police custody, Shatta Wale also turned himself in and he was subsequently arrested together with two of his team members for their alleged involvement in the incident.

The Ghana Police Service arraigned Shatta Wale today, meanwhile, on social media, his fans are advocating for him to be released.

Using the #FreeShataWale hashtag, his fans are drumming up support for the musician.

It’s emotional at this point.
