On October 1, 2021, a total of 278 students of the Ghana School of Law were called to the Bar by the General Legal Council (GLC) to commence legal practice in Ghana.
The new lawyers were called to the Ghana Bar after they successfully passed the Professional Law Examination organised by the Ghana School of Law.
Of the 278 new lawyers, eight were awarded for their exceptional performances in some of the courses at the Ghana School of Law.
Below are the 2021 Ghana School of Law best students:
Samuel Pinaman Adomako
Samuel Pinaman Adomako was adjudged winner of the John Mensah Sarbah Memorial Prize – the topmost award at the Ghana School of Law which is presented to the student with the best all-around performance in the Professional Law Examination.
He also won the award for Best Student in Law Practice and Legal Accounting.
Hamida Al-Hassan won the award for Best Student in Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR), Advocacy and Legal Ethics and Company and Commercial Law.
Ama Aboagye DaCosta
Ama Aboagye DaCosta was adjudged the Best Student in Civil Procedure. She also became the youngest lawyer in Ghana at age 22.
Edna Nana Adwoa Ampah
Edna Nana Adwoa Ampah won the award for Best Student in Conveyancing and Drafting.
Gifty Priscilla Okai
Gifty Priscilla Okai was adjudged Best Student in Criminal Procedure.
Jacob Soung Zurobire
Jacob Soung Zurobire won the award for Best Student in Law of Evidence.
Akua Adjeibea Ameley
Akua Adjeibea Ameley won the award for Best Student in Family Law and Practice.
Akua Nyantakyiwaa-Sarpong was adjudged Best Student in Interpretation of Deeds and Statutes.
