Leroy Wadie is well-versed in art with a background in Graphic Design, Film Production and Project Management; and has a bold mindset and passion for change.

Born in Ghana, he moved to the UK when he was 11. During his time in the UK, he obtained a bachelor of science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Lambeth College. He later worked at the Ministry of Justice in the UK as a Facilities Management Officer before leaving to obtain an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design from Shillington Education.

After completing Shillington Education, he worked with a mobile app development agency, Dreamr, in the UK as a UX UI Designer for a year before moving to Ghana in 2015 to work with Stratcomm Africa as a Senior Graphic Designer.

Leroy moved to Ghana with the vision to improve the creative landscape across the country, Africa and beyond. He identified that Ghana had a huge market in the creative arts sector that’s untapped, and felt he could use the experience he’s gained in art from the UK to help grow the creative industry in Ghana and Africa as a whole.

While embarking on this mission in Ghana, he worked with Mhoseenu Design Studio in Accra, as an Art Director and later as a Project Manager, from 2015 to 2020.

In March 2020, Leroy founded his own design studio – Studio 873 – and built a strong team of various creative disciplines to help both established and new brands with production, exhibitions, branding, installations and imaginative projects.

Aside from working at his studio as a Creative Director, he occupies a similar role at ADA\ contemporary art gallery. The art gallery specialises in the work of emerging artists across Africa and its diaspora.
