At one point or another, we’ve all wondered how cartoons are made. While most animated shows are made by quickly showing different hand-drawn pictures, that’s for the pros. Right now, we’re going to look at some mobile apps that simplify the whole process and will let you make your own animation in a couple of minutes.

Toontastic 3D

Google made this app so you know it at least got to be decent. You can easily make a fun 3D cartoon complete with your own voice-over and it won’t take more than a few minutes. The drag and drop animation style is really easy to get used to just choose a character, choose a setting, edit both of them as you like and hit record.

And once you’ve hit record, you can move things across the screen as you like to record those movements. You know some of your jokes would be funnier as cartoons, so why not get Toontastic 3D from the Play Store or App Store and turn your idea into a cartoon.

TweenCraft works differently from Toontastic 3D but it’s just as easy to use as Toontastic 3D is. First of all, this is a 2D animation app and you start making your cartoon by choosing and staging your characters and your scene. But here’s where it’s a bit different. To animate, you basically let the app take a picture of initial positions and then you move things around and take another picture of everything’s position.

TweenCraft will animate everything that’s changing positions. If you moved a character across the screen, you would see them walk across the screen from their initial position to their new position.

Puppet Pals HD

This app is one of the most fun ones on this list. Puppet Pals HD will let you upload a picture from your gallery into the app. If it’s a picture of a person, you can crop it in the app to get just the cutout of the person. Then you can move that cut out around to make your animation.

All you have to do is hit record, drag your characters around, make some funny voices into your mic and you would have made your animation.
