Just in case you need a reminder, which we doubt, the COVID-19 pandemic is still here and it’s still causing havoc.

At the time of filing this report, the Ghana Health Service is reporting that 1,130 people have died from the virus in the country and 4,269 people are currently living the virus with a number of them on critical care.

However, there is a solution to prevent people from contracting the virus and even if they do, reduce the severity of their case.

That is the vaccine.

For months now, Ghana has been administering various COVID-19 vaccines that have gone through testing and approval.

Starting this Friday, the Ghana Health Service will be carrying out another vaccination exercise in the Greater Accra Region.

For anybody who lives in the region and is 18 years or older, the person is eligible to participate in the September 24 to September 29 vaccination exercise.

The GHS will be administering the AstraZeneca vaccine, as a result, anybody who has never taken any of the vaccines can take a shot and those who have taken a shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine and are waiting for their second shot can also get their second jabs during this period.

Here are the specific health facilities where the vaccination will be taking place.

Please remember that, if you have already taken only one AstraZeneca shot, you need to go to the government health facility in your district with your vaccination card. However, if you have never taken any of the shots then you need to go along with a valid National ID card.

Also, the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines are single-shot vaccines, so if you have taken any of those, you are not supposed to participate in this exercise. You have completed your COVID-19 vaccination.
