You’ve had an exhausting wedding but at least you get to look forward to a relaxing honeymoon where you both get to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. You don’t want anything like the weather especially or the thoughts about your finances to ruin that for you. Whether you plan on having a trip full of activities or a more relaxing honeymoon, here are some tips on how to choose your location.
1. Set your budget
You don’t want to be on a “relaxing” trip thinking about how much money you’re spending and worrying about how you’ve taken a loan and you aren’t sure about how to pay back. Know your budget and plan your activities accordingly. It’s always better to over budget and end up under budget than vice versa.
2. Think about the weather
If you plan on having an activities-filled honeymoon especially, the weather should be a major factor to consider because you don’t want to be stuck indoors because of rain or snow when you really want to be outside. On the other hand, if you don’t mind a shower here and there, traveling in the off-season can save you money.
3. Consider a “mini-moon”
If your budget is really tight and you can’t afford to travel outside the country, you can get a hotel here in Ghana and just relax and enjoy yourself. In the future, you can both save and go on that dream trip another time. Once again, don’t go broke just at the beginning of your marriage. It’s not worth it.
4. Know what’s happening in the world
Why? You don’t want to end up in the middle of a civil war or some kind of unrest in a country. Research the location you have your heart set on romancing in to make sure you are aware of any problems or health risks.
5. Read travel blogs to learn more about what potential locations will offer
If you both are clueless about where you want to go, travel blogs will save you. A lot of travel bloggers are on Instagram especially so you can go on their pages to see what potential locations are offering.
