As a Black Stars player, CK Akonnor is a legend.

After playing for the Black Stars 41 times, he became the captain of the team after Abedi Pele retired from the team.

He would have gone on to have a more iconic history with the team but for his quest to secure German citizenship. After he became a German citizen, he was never called to play for the Black Stars again.

Nonetheless, he had goodwill with the team and Ghanaians in general who supported and welcomed him when the Ghana Football Association named him as the coach of the Black Stars.

However, after a disappointing time as the head coach of the Black Stars, Ghanaians are not backing him anymore.

CK Akonnor has been in charge of 10 Black Stars games so far and he has won only 4 of those, drawn an additional 4 and lost the rest including the game against South Africa on Monday.

Since the defeat to the Bafana Bafana, Ghanaians have been calling on the GFA to fire CK Akonnor by using the hashtag, #CKout.

  1. Another day.

2. He is losing trust.

3. Debatable

4. Is the job too big for him?

5. Fair point?

6. Now, y’all are being funny.

CK Akonnor has lost the support of the general public and they are not that enthused about the Black Stars as the GFA would hope especially since it started the #BringBackTheLove campaign.
