For Drake fans this is the best news yet. Certified Lover Boy has been in the works since 2019, when Drake told fans he was locked in “album mode.”
Drake starting the week formally announced the release date for his new album, the long-awaited Certified Lover Boy, as well as shared the cover art.
Cover art remains a vital space to grab attention, contextualize a song, or tell the story of a whole album. It’s the image that leads the right people to your music and turns passive listening into active listening. That means turning casual listeners into super-fans.
As fans will have it, this wasn’t the Cover art they were expecting for the long-awaited album. But what fans don’t know is the meaning behind the cover art.
The artwork was designed by famed artist Damien Hirst and features 12 pregnant woman emojis in various skin tones and shirt colors, inspired by Hirst’s signature spot paintings.
According to Oldmanebro in his recent tweet gave some clarifications as to why Drake has 12 pregnant womenas his cover art. “According to the internets….“Drake is dropping Certified Lover Boy , an album about love (baby making) 9 months after the expected release date, (9 months is a full term pregnancy), on LABOR day weekend. which is why there are pregnant emojis on the cover”
This might be the most clever roll out we’ve seen in 2021
