It’s 2021, and it’s never been as easy to end a relationship. All you have to do is stop responding and–well, that’s it. Ghosting is easy and might be more convenient for the person that’s ghosting, however for the person being ghosted, it can be difficult not getting any closure. But there are some scenarios where ghosting is justified.
They Send Inappropriate Content (Ghost)
You don’t want to be the bad guy and ghost someone who has genuine feelings towards you. But if someone is sending you inappropriate content, there’s no room for a misunderstanding when you ghost.
You’re Not Feeling It (Don’t Ghost)
If you went out with someone and you didn’t click as much as you expected to, it’s better to tell that person than ghost. They might feel, on their end, that things went well and might even be optimistic.
They Cross Important Boundaries (Ghost)
If you’ve been out with someone who made you feel violated or unsafe while you were with them, then you should ghost. When it comes to your personal safety and your boundaries, ghosting is definitely the way to go.
You’re Into Someone else (Don’t Ghost)
If you’ve had your options open and suddenly realized that you would rather invest in one person, then you should have a conversation with the people that you’re talking to. It’s less cruel to let them know than have them thinking that they’ve done something wrong.
