The cases are going up yet people seem to be less concerned about practising COVID-19 safety protocols.

That is why at least making sure that you are fully vaccinated is essential.

Research has proved that if you are vaccinated, the chances of getting a severe case of COVID-19 infection and/or dying from COVID-19 complications are less compared to someone who is unvaccinated.

Starting this Tuesday – August 31 to Saturday – September 4, the Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate will be carrying out a vaccination exercise.

This time, the vaccine to be used is the AstraZeneca vaccine and because the available doses are not enough, the eligibility criteria have been tightened.

This week’s vaccination exercise is exclusively for those who have taken the first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine between March 10 and March 29 this year.

AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine is a double shot vaccine, as a result, if you have had only one shot, then you need to participate in this exercise for your second shot.

The vaccines have been disbursed to various metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDA), so see below for your MMDA and the health facility nearest to you.

Please remember to go along with a valid national ID card and your COVID-19 vaccination card
