The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has had to drop the hammer on four students for committing varying offences.

It has announced that two students have been rusticated, another has been suspended indefinitely and another has been dismissed from the university.

According to the university, Rexford Joseph Bonney has been rusticated for two academic years comprising of the 2021/2022 and the 2022/2023 academic years for his “involvement in the unauthorised installation of ‘Odikro’ at Unity Hall.”

Baffour Owusu Konadu, was rusticated for the 2021/2022 academic for what KNUST describes as “gross misconduct and bringing the name of the university into disrepute.”

The third student to be punished by KNUST is Patrick Dwamena Sekyere who has been suspended indefinitely for “extortion of monies from students with the promise of securing them accommodation at the GUSS and SRC Hotels.”

However, Dwumah Ramsay Ohene-Tutu was dismissed for stealing two laptops from the Main University Library on different occasions.

Universities have rules…. Observe them always.
