Here’s What You Need To Know About Monetizing Your YouTube Channel

Youtube

According to YouTube, over 1 billion hours of video content is consumed every day. That’s over 100 years of video watched by people every day. That alone should make you realize just how much people enjoy consuming video content. If you’re a content creator, it’s worth it to pursue video. However, if you want to make money from YouTube, there are some things that you need to know.

There Are Content Restrictions

In order to earn on YouTube, there are some channel requirements that you need to meet. There are also content restrictions. These make sure that your content is not too controversial, and that it’s something that advertisers can attach their names to. So no excessive swearing in your videos and no adult content (this would get banned after a while anyway).

The Channel Requirements

In order to even be eligible for monetization, your channel needs to be a little bit popular. Here’s what that means; you need at least 1000 subscribers, and 4000 watch hours. A good hack to meet those requirements is to make longer videos with other creators, so you can tap into each other’s audiences.

You Will Need An AdSense Account

Once you’ve met the channel and content requirements to make money off your channel, you’ll need an a Google AdSense account. That account will be used to manage payments that are made to you and your earnings from your videos. Once you have an AdSense account, you can enable ads on all your videos and start earning.

You Can’t Withdraw Your Money. Sometimes

The final thing you need to know about YouTube monetization is that there’s a minimum threshhold that you need to meet before you can withdraw your money. That threshhold is $100. So, if you haven’t earned $100 in a month, you can’t take your earned money out for that month.
