Every year, the national service year groups of CalBank PLC undertake a project as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
In fulfilling this, the 2020/2021 national service year group of the bank renovated the Internal Medicine Ward (C6) at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
According to Vincent Kwasi Agbi, the President of the group, the renovation was done to assist the hospital in delivering good medical service.
Vincent also indicated that the service group is made up of about 125 persons and each of them contributed an amount of GHC35 of their allowance every month to fund the project.
“Aside from the monthly contribution, we have also designed envelopes which were shared with the staff of CalBank, key customers and close relatives for assistance,” Vincent said.
He added: “It took us an average of two weeks for the whole renovation. Work started on 20th June and ended on 3rd July 2021. But was commissioned on 23rd July 2021.”
Speaking on what they have been able to achieve as a group, Vincent said: “I am personally grateful that the renovation (project) will bring happiness on the faces of patients, staff of KATH and the general public. This has always been the hallmark of CalBank.”
Other key personalities that spearheaded the renovation at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital include Samuel Kwame Boafo, the CalBank NSP Patron; Derek Nayrko, the CalBank Nhyiaeso Branch Manager.
In 2018, the 2017/2018 national service year group of CalBank PLC constructed a 5-bedroom apartment for the Royal Seed Orphanage at Kwao-Bondzie in the Central Region.
