No matter the allowance that you’re getting on campus as a student, there’s no way that it’s enough. That’s why we’re all constantly looking for a way to make some extra money on the side. Sometimes the opportunities available here just aren’t enough or they don’t even exist at all.
Here’s how to set up a PayPal account and earn some extra cash on the side while you’re in school.
Set Up Your PayPal Account

PayPal has been blacklisted in Ghana so you can’t just create a PayPal account. If you’re ever tried to create a PayPal you know this. So here’s what to do instead to create your account.
- Go to paypal.com/ls. Although PayPal is unavailable in Ghana, you can still access the domain for Lesotho. From that point, it’s intuitive and simple enough to create your PayPal account. Fill out the forms with your correct details including a Ghanaian phone number, your national ID details, nationality and other information.
Link Your Visa Card

Now, you’ve created your account. Click on the Summary tab to confirm your email address, and to link a debit or credit card. There’s an option to link a bank account but you can’t connect a Ghanaian bank account since Ghana is not a recognized PayPal country. So instead, you link your VISA card so that you have access to the funds on your PayPal account.
Sign Up For Some Freelancing Sites

Now that you have access to a valid PayPal account, you can sign up for freelancing websites like Fiverr and PeoplePerHour. If you’re a digital content creator, you can also sell your products on Gumroad which makes it incredibly easy for digital content creators to sell their products.
