Right now, UTAG is on strike and it means that you suddenly have a lot more free time on your hands. While the uncertainty of what comes next and wondering how long you’re going to be in school can be discomforting, this is still a chance to do some very very important things. Very important.

Get Your Party On

School without class is everyone’s wet dream. You get to hang out with your friends, have fun, stay up late and go out without having to worry about the next lecture or some assignment that is due. Take advantage of the current situation and spend some quality time with your friends.

Try Not To Flunk Out

Yes, you should have some fun, but you shouldn’t forget under any circumstances that you’re in the middle of a strike, not a vacation. And when your teachers do come back, there are going to be some who expect you have covered the material without them. Find academic resources for your course and try to do some learning on your own.

When you’re in the university, balancing academics and social life/fun are more of a priority than rest. However, during this strike, you have more time than ever before and there’s no reason why you can’t get some rest as well. Remember, strikes can end at any moment and you’ll have to start going back to class. Rest while you can.

Go Home

This time is also the perfect opportunity to make frequent trips home to take advantage of the facilities. Go do your laundry, get a home-cooked meal and finesse some extra cash from your parents.
