After weeks of campaigning, Michael Abuah has won the election to become the next President of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Students’ Representative Council (KNUST-SRC).
Michael went up against four other fierce candidates who raced right to the line in the election.
However, after the count was over last night, Michael had been declared victorious over DSK Acquah Jr, Frank Owusu, Prince Adjei Ackah, and Kevin Abban.
Michael won the election by receiving 5,024 votes.
He is a third year Environmental Science student who is not new to student leadership.
Before becoming the KNUST SRC President elect, Michael was the President of the KNUST chapter of the Science Students’ Association.
He will be joined in the KNUST SRC leadership by Derek Andy Dadzie as the Financial Secretary, Benedicta Tiwaa Amankwah as the General Secretary, and Delali Setugah Forgive as the Women’s Commissioner.
By accepting to be Michael’s running mate, Reginald Amo Yeboah then becomes the Vice President elect.
The new student leadership team will be taking over from Samuel Sessah who is coming to end of his tenure and KNUST SRC President.
