UGSRC Election 2021: Vetting Results Of Aspirants Released

The Vetting Committee of the University of Ghana Student Representative Council (UGSRC) has released the results of the students aspiring to hold executive offices in the SRC for the 2021/2022 academic year.

The vetting of these aspirants took place on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the SRC Union Building on the University of Ghana campus.

Thirteen aspirants appeared before an eight-member vetting panel to answer important questions pertaining to the office they were running for and the policies they planned to implement.

Pursuant to the Constitutional Instrument for this year’s elections, aspirants who obtained a cumulative average of 60% and above from the collective vetting committee were deemed sufficiently recommended.

A communique signed by the Chairperson of the Vetting Committee, Henry Ackon, disclosed that all the 13 aspirants who appeared to be vetted had passed and were duly recommended by the committee to stand for the elections.

Results of Presidential Aspirants

The results provided by the committee showed that; Prince Asumadu and Wisdom Ndukwe topped the presidential position with a score of 86.89%, followed by Samuel Ofosu Amosu and Alfred Acquah with a score of 81%, Felix Ayittah and Paul Andam with 69%; and Priscilla Ayeh and Henry Quarcoopome with 63.69%.

Results of General Secretary Aspirants

Stephanie Naadu Antwi also topped the General Secretary position with a score of 89.38% followed by Jonelle Mate-Kodjo with a score of 84%; and Rebecca Derry with 82.38%.

Results of Treasurer Aspirants

Daniel Obeng Asamoah also topped the Treasurer position with a score of 91.88% followed by Abdul-Rashid Abdul Razak with 62.69%.

All candidates are expected to take part in a balloting exercise on Friday, August 6, 2021.
