Tomorrow, August 4, Ghanaians will finally have their say as they take to the streets as past of the #FixTheCountry demonstration.
There have been several attempts in the past couple of months to move the online protest to the streets to gain the attention of the Ghanaian political elite.
#FixTheCountry campaign which started as a hashtag gained popularity and the support of a lot of Ghanaians who have several complaints about the many ways the country is not working.
Education, health, transport, the economy and a myriad of issues that need to be fixed by the political elites who are being paid with taxpayer money to do so.
However, after the Police has repeatedly frustrated the conveners from holding the on-the-ground demonstration and a series of court appearances, the demonstration is finally coming off.
However, a scan through social media, a day before the “big” demonstration and it seems the enthusiasm has waned.
However, there is a significant number of people who are still campaigning online in hopes of motivating a lot of Ghanaians to show up tomorrow.
Protesters are expected to gather at the Obra Spot at Kwame Nkrumah Circle by 7am tomorrow and join the march that will end at the Black Star Square.
