Mildred Naa Adoley Laryea, a third-year Political Science and Geography student, has been crowned the Face of Legon 2021.
A resident of Legon Hall, Mildred beat five finalists to secure the crown after answering the judge’s question on the government’s implementation of the Free SHS policy.
The grand finale which came off at the University of Ghana Central Cafeteria (CC) on Friday, 16th July 2021, saw thirteen ladies compete for the crown.
Gloria Norvor, a second-year Linguistics and French student; and a resident of Akuafo Hall, was adjudged the first runner-up of the beauty pageant.
Sandra Afia Wiredu, a second-year Geography and Sociology student, was named the second runner-up of 2021 face of Legon. She is a non-resident student.
The night of glitz and glamour saw the contestants showcase their talent, engage the judges and audience on the projects they plan to embark on when they secure the crown, and display their current affairs knowledge.
As the winner, Mildred will receive a GHC10,000 educational fund, a trip to Dubai, and free makeup for one year. She will also undertake a project that will be beneficial to the university community and the nation.
Face of Legon is a pageant which is organised by the University of Ghana SRC to crown one lady as the Face of the University based on her peculiar skills, confidence, hard work, and passion to solve a problem in society.
