Tertiary institutions such as the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University of Education – Winneba, and Accra Technical University all have a cadet corps.
They are under the supervision of the National Cadet Corps Ghana; which is an amalgamation of Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and the Fire Cadets in Ghana.
The National Cadet Corps currently has the Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Adutwum, Mustapha Ussif (Minister for Youth and Sports), and Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa (Director-General, Ghana Education Service) as members of its management.
Cadet Corps in Ghana are considered to be the largest well organized youth educative organizations that are spread throughout the sixteen regions of the country and can easily mobilize for National development duties in Ghana.
