The entertainment industry thrives on beef. You know, when one artiste is publicly picking a fight with another musician.

In Ghana, we have Shatta Wale picking a fight with numerous musicians, most notably is his fight with Stonebwoy that resulted in a chaotic 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

It is common for one musician to pick a beef with another musician, however, it is not common for it to cross the carpet between politics and the world of entertainment.

Ahead of this weekend’s super clash between Kotoko and Hearts of Oak which was eventually won by Hearts, a beef ensued between Kuami Eugene, the 2020 VGMA Artiste of the Year and Sam George, a Member of Parliament.

Kuami Eugene who had publicly declared support for Kotoko had been billed to perform at the stadium during the Super Clash.

However, many Hearts fans were against the idea, including the MP.

The MP had very strong opinions that he sent a tweet stating his opposition to the move.

Kuami Eugene eventually withdrew from the performance but made sure to reply to the MP. The musician basically told the politician to not make a big deal out of the situation.

Thinking that it was over, the politician came back several hours later when his favourite had won the match to basically tease Kuami Eugene.

Kuami Eugene has not responded to the politician after that but their very public encounter did help to add some more pre and post-game tension to the Super Clash.
