Kumerica has been officially recognized as a winner of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
During the VGMA weekend to celebrate the 22nd edition of the VGMA, Yaw Tog won his first VGMA in his career.
His hit song ‘Sore’ won the award for the best Hip Hop song of the year.
He won the category that included Medikal’s ‘Hustle Remix’ featuring Criss Waddle, Kwesi Arthur’s ‘Live From 233’, Dead Peepol’s ‘Otan Hunu’, among other amazing hits.
However, it was ‘Sore’ that carried the night.
Wearing his hoodie sweater, Yaw Tog mounted the VGMA stage flanked by some of his die-hard supporters.
That was when he dropped the line that has now become the subject of discussion about his VGMA night.
While delivering his acceptance speech, Yaw Tog said “Shoutout to my haters.”
He said this while it has been well documented that he has an unresolved beef with the Asakaa group that contributed to his earlier success as a musician.
Since he said that people can’t stop talking about it.
While he is preparing for his WASSCE as a final year student of the Opoku Ware Secondary School, Yaw Tog is still trying to stir the pot in the Kumerican drill scene.
Maybe, just maybe, that is the beef that can help sustain interest in the scene.
