#VGMA22: 5 Videos That Prove Nana Yaw Safo Is The ‘Best Instrumentalist’

Nana Yaw Safo, a drummer, won the award for ‘Best Instrumentalist’ at the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

He was adjudged winner of the category on Day 1 of the awards festival, held on June 25, 2021, at the Grand Arena in Accra.

Nana Yaw Safo beat off competition from other talented instrumentalists including Joshua Moszi, Prince Sennah, Emmanuel Bludo and Enoch Owuraku Kissi.

He is a member of one of Ghana’s leading musical bands, Patch Bay Band.

In the band, he plays alongside Gabriel Yeboah (keyboardist), Philip Acquah (bassist), Dominic Quarchie (guitarist), Benjamin Nii Armah (percussionist), Beryl Stephenson (vocalist), and Frank Amankwaa (vocalist).

Nana Yaw Safo and his band members have over the years backed almost every major artist in the country including Sarkodie, Kofi Kinaata, Stonebwoy, Samini, Shatta Wale, Okyeame Kwame, Diana Hamilton, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Rex Omar, Efya, Nacee, and more.
