Kofi Kinaata won the award for ‘Songwriter of the Year’ at the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), making him the only Ghanaian artiste to win it four times.
He was adjudged winner of the category on Day 1 of the awards festival, beating off competition from Diana Hamilton (Adom), Adina (Hyedin), Joe Mettle (Yesu Mo), Abiana (Adun Lei), and Epixode (Too Much).
Kofi Kinaata first won the ‘Songwriter of the Year’ award in 2016, and won it again the following year.
After failing to win it in 2018 and 2019, he won the award in 2020 to become the first artiste to win the award three times and topped it up with a fourth this year.
