In a matter of hours, Ghana will be celebrating those musicians who have excelled and won the hearts of music lovers.
This year’s night of celebration of music will be a lot different from the previous editions in the past 22 years.
The pandemic for one, has made this year’s ceremony a lot different from the previous editions.
Patrons will not be gathering at the Grand Arena for the ceremony. However, while this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards goes a different way, certain things would remain the same or even similar.
Glitz And Glamour
The night of the VGMA is really one of those nights celebrities get to dress up and look their absolute best. If they will be there, we know KiDi, Joselyn Dumas and others are going to be at the restricted event venue, then they are going to kill it.
Just as we have those who will dress to the nines, there are others who will either try too much or too little. They are talented musicians alright, but the fashion kills are not for everyone.
Since Ghana’s music night started to gain popularity and Twitter took off in Ghana, the VGMA takes a different life online. Someone will certainly be trolled for what they wore, what they didn’t win or for saying something.
Who Won What Arguments
As the awards are being handed out, trust disgruntled fans to start causing online commotion because their fave did not win. The credibility of the VGMA will be questioned.
Performances – The Amazing and The Blah
Over the last two decades of the VGMA, it has given us some of the amazing performances and the not so good performances. Some have been memorable and others not so much. Remember that Samini saxophone intro for his 2018 VGMA performance? Yeah, that was awesome.
Get in the mood. This year’s VGMA will be different but no less awesome.
