First of all, your teeth isn’t supposed to be white, and that’s perfectly normal. Teeth that are not perfectly white can still be healthy. The teeth are considered unhealthy if their color is attributed to plaque buildup or staining. Having off-white teeth is usually healthy.
If you still want whiter teeth but you don’t want to use chemicals to bleach your teeth, we’ve compiled other options which are natural and safer.
First things first, what causes yellowing of teeth?
Certain food items like coffee, red wine and energy drinks among others, stain your enamel. Also, plaque build-up on your teeth can cause them to look yellow.
1. Brush your teeth
I know this seems like an obvious action but truly, brushing your teeth at least twice a day makes all the difference. It’s important that you brush after taking in food and drinks that can lead to yellow teeth. Also, you need to be careful about brushing your teeth right after taking acidic foods and drinks as it can make the acids brush away more enamel and lead to erosion.
2. Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide
Make a paste out of this mixture and use it to brush your teeth. This removes plaque buildup and bacteria to get rid of stains. Get 1 tablespoon of baking spoon and 2 spoons of hydrogen peroxide to make the paste. After using the paste, wash your mouth thoroughly with water.
3. Apple cider vinegar
First things first, you shouldn’t use raw apple cider vinegar in your mouth. You need to dilute it with water so use 2 parts of apple cider vinegar and 6 parts of water. Swish the solution in your mouth for 30 seconds and spit it out. Brush your teeth afterwards.
