Tonight is going to be another “Fellow Ghanaians” night as President Akufo-Addo is scheduled to deliver his 25th COVID-19 update.
This 25th update is coming more than 2 months since the last update address on February 28.
Since then, the government launched a vaccination programme that has since gone silent due to the unavailability of vaccines.
Most of the people who took the first shots of the Astra Zeneca vaccine are waiting for their second shots to be fully vaccinated.
However, with the President and his government losing favour among a lot of young Ghanaians following a number of critical issues including their response to the #FixTheCountry campaign, many were not enthused about the announcement of another presidential COVID-19 update address tonight.
Many were basically responding to the announcement with their concerns about the many issues they encounter in their daily lives.
This could also be the fact that for some time now, information about the virus and general awareness have gone down and many have been disregarding the safety protocols as though the virus is no longer active in the country.
As of the time of filing this report, there were 1,314 active COVID-19 cases in the country and 783 people have died from COVID-19 complications in the country, according to the Ghana Health Service.
