Myth: Trimming Your Ends Will Make Your Hair Grow

First things first, why do we trim our ends? Trimming our ends every 3-4 months (depending on your hair) is incredibly important because a split end will curl around itself and lead to knots which will lead to breakage. Also, if the ends of your hair are dry and frizzy, you know it’s time for a trim.

Why are we saying it’s a myth that trimming your hair will help it grow longer? Because people take this information literally. Some people think when they cut their ends or even cut all their hair, it sorts of pushes the scalp to increase the growth rate of their hair which is false.

Trims are done at the ends of the hair and do not really affect the roots/scalp. Stop cutting your hair every chance you get. Note that we said you should get trims every 3-4 months and not weeks because if you keep cutting your ends when you have new growth, your hair will never grow longer.
