Social Media has been documented as being a vital tool in getting the word out and creating awareness about a subject of interest.
It has become a tool used by a lot of celebrities who are trying to push one thing or the other.
They could be pushing their music, film or any other project – the more eyeballs they get the better.

Most Ghanaian celebrities are very active on social media as they push their on-brand agenda.
However, they are receiving some backlash now as many seem to have gone radio silent or have not engaged in a conversation that was started by their fans who are staring into their bleak near future.
The #FixTheCountry hashtag was started to ramp up voices to get the Ghanaian political class and those in power to make sure that the country works for everyone.
Healthcare, education, availability of jobs among many other issues that are life and death situations for a lot of young people who are also fans of these celebrities.
While the celebrities expect these same people to engage with the content they provide which makes them money, most of these celebrities have so far refused to help their fans push this agenda.

In essence, they have hanged their fans out to dry as they refuse to leverage the influential platforms they have built to support their fans.
What is most shocking is that these same celebrities voiced support for the End SARS protest, when Ghanaians supported Nigerians to end police brutality in their country.
However, these very same Ghanaian celebrities have not voiced support of their own Ghanaian fans who need their help now.
As of the time of filing this report, those who have not posted using the hashtag include Sarkodie, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Becca, Criss Waddle, Kelvynboy, Medikal, Samini, Efya, and others.
