Fuseini Wahab Abdul, the young man who reportedly fell from the fourth floor of the Mensah Sarbah Hall Annex A at the University of Ghana, is yet to regain consciousness a week after the incident, according to Graphic Online.
The 24-year-old, believed to be a former resident of the hall and currently undertaking his national service, reportedly jumped from the fourth floor of the Mensah Sarbah Hall Annex A Building over fears of being sacked by hall authorities because he was an illegal resident.
The incident is reported to have happened in the early hours of Friday, April 23, 2021, at about 1:45 am.
However, according to Graphic Online, the police has been able to establish that Fuseini Wahab fell after he slipped when he tried to jump from one balcony to another.
“Police investigations have shown that a student reportedly informed Wahab on the night of the incident that the porters and some university authorities were undertaking an exercise to eject illegal occupants. The victim upon hearing the information is said to have attempted to outwit the authorities by jumping to the balcony of the next room only for him to have slipped,” part of Graphic Online’s report reads.
“The victim who is yet to regain consciousness is still at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital while police continue with their investigations,” Graphic Online further indicated.
Fuseini Wahab was first taken to the Legon Hospital for medical attention after the incident. He was later transferred to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ridge.
