Los Angeles-based Ghanaian producer and DJ Blaq Pages has released a groovy video for his single “Talking About Me”. The video shot in LA by Cooper Vacheron features Actress Fortunate Perezu and dancers Princess Bella (Gogobellaxhoops), Paris Danca, Lindiwe Rose, and Timeiseducation.
The feel-good, up-tempo song by Blaq Pages, is an Amapiano fusion with Afrobeats which is off the artist debut Ep High Energy.
High Energy is a six-track EP that combines amapiano, Afro house, and highlife. Kirani Ayat, DJ Kwamzy, Hannah Eggen, Kastro SZN, and Apiwe Bubu contributed to the EP, which was released in October of last year.
Speaking to Crudovolta, Blaq Pages reveals the inspiration behind the song and video. “I created this record during the early stages of this Global Pandemic. At the time no one knew what was going on or how to feel about their near and distant loved ones. The lockdown created a lot of uncertainties but relationships carried on and blossomed in new ways despite the government restrictions. This is where I found my inspiration”, Blaq Pages said.
“I believe that we all have that special person we think and talk to with our friends. This song will bring hope to people and assure them that everything will be alright once this pandemic is over. This video illustrates the joy and happiness amongst friends when we do meet again. We can reunite with that special somebody soon whether it be close friends or even relatives,” Blaq Pages added.
