It is on a rather sad note that we report the passing of 13-year-old Michael Kofi Asiamah.
Michael recently went viral after a Go Fund Me campaign was created to raise $30k for him to pay for his medical bill for brain surgery.
The likes of Sarkodie, Michael Oti Adjei, and a host of other social media users joined the call to help the Sarkodie fan to raise the money he needed to save his life.
He did reach his goal and even got a little over $2k more than what was requested.
Days ago, Michael underwent a successful surgery which we gladly reported on.
However, we did not get that happy ending Ghanaians were hoping for.
Today, Michael’s mother Cordelia Ama Selormey has announced that Michael has sadly passed away.
“Michael had his surgery and it was very successful. He was talking, eating and making a beautiful recovery,” she wrote on Facebook.
“We were happy…but that joy was earlier this evening, in less than 20 minutes just snatched away,” she added.
“Michael had finished eating and was being prepped for bed by the attendees. He complained of a pain in the chest and just like that, my baby was gone! My Michael is gone,” she said.
After she posted on Facebook, heartbroken Sarkodie and others took to social media to pay tributes to Michael and console his family and friends.
Michael will surely be missed.
RIP Young King,.
