Ghanaian Musician Pure Akan, has released new single “Mobɛtie”.
After close to four years of dropping his debut album, Pure Akan in his latest new single “Mobɛtie” has announced his Sophomore Album is ready.
Pure Akan’s Onipa Akoma album has been called one of the best albums in Ghana since its release in 2017 and has even been named the “best selling album” on the aftown music streaming platform.
Fans have waited long to know when his next album will be out and he answers all their questions on “Mobɛtie”.
Mobɛtie which translates from the Akan language (local dialect of the Akan people) as “You Will listen” is the Pure Akan latest hit. Clocking at over 2 mins, the song gives fans a foretaste of what to expect in his upcoming Album.
One key thing you will notice when listening to Mobɛtie is the sample of Ramblers “Knock On Wood” which Yungfly did a good job at with the production, seemingly blending the sample to fit the Pure Akan’s distinctive style.
This isn’t the first time Pure Akan has hinted on his Sophomore Album, in December during Senku Band’s show at Oliver Twist Shack, Akan mid-performance announced that his next album is finally ready. He stated that fans have been asking and he’s glad to finally say, a new album is ready.
Even though the date is still not known, we hope Pure Akan drops the Album this year. And with him reiterating on his single about the Album we know the Album is going to be a show stopper.
Last year Akan released “Mensei Da” featuring Efya. Where Akan sings about the hurt from his heartbreak but also talks about moving on and not letting it stop him from enjoying himself. The underlying message in the song is about staying hopeful and strong. There is always more ahead. “If a move doesn’t go well, I would rather move on than cry over spilt milk.”
Mobɛtie is available on all digital streaming platforms.
