7 Interesting Uses Of Vaseline You Didn’t Know About

Petroleum jelly was discovered by Robert Augustus Chesebrough in 1859 where he noticed that oil workers would use the jelly to heal their wounds and burns. He eventually packaged this jelly as Vaseline.

Vaseline has a thick consistency really works wonders on our skin and allergies to this petroleum jelly is very rare making it perfect for even sensitive skin. Here are some mind blowing uses of Vaseline you didn’t know about.

1. Take off false lashes

Ripping the lashes off your eyes can do damage to your actual lashes so instead, apply Vaseline onto your eye, leave it there for a few minutes and then pull the false lashes off.

2. Heal chapped nose

If you’ve been battling with a cold for sometime and you keep blowing your nose, chances are your nose now hurts because the skin has been chapped. Applying a bit of petroleum jelly to the chapped areas of your nose helps heal the chapped skin and also helps prevent further dryness and cracking too.

3. Control eyebrows

If you’ve not had time to shape your brows and they’re just everywhere, apply a bit of Vaseline to them and brush them the way you want. They’ll stay put until you wash it off.

4. Prep your skin for a fragrance

A hack to keep your scents to last longer on you involves you applying Vaseline to your pulse points (which include the wrists, inner elbows, back of the knees, and the neck) before applying the fragrance into it.

5. Gentle Makeup Remover

Apply Vaseline all over your face and let it sit for about 5 minutes. It easily and gently removes your foundation, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, and even your eyelash glue left on your eye lids. Clean your face with a washcloth and wash your face with a cleanser.

6. Remove gum from hair

Apply a generous amount of Vaseline to the part of the hair with gum on it and slowly work through the hair with your fingers until you can remove the gum.

7. Remove a ring

If the ring on your finger is too small and you’re finding some difficulty in removing it, Vaseline can save you. Apply a generous amount into the finger with the ring on it and gently slide the ring back and forth until you can slide it off.
