Here Is What’s Currently Happening With All The Game Of Thrones Spin-Offs

Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon is set to be premiered in 2022

There’s no two ways about it: that last season of Game of Thrones left a lot of us disappointed. However, one fact that we use to console ourselves is that the show run out of source material. So, you’ll be happy to know that there’s been buzz around some Game of Thrones spin-offs that are more in line with George RR. Martin’s vision. This is what’s happening with each of those spin-offs.

House Of The Dragon

This is easily my favourite of the Game of Thrones spin-offs that you’re going to find on this list. And that’s because production for House of the Dragon is set to begin later this year. The series will focus on the events of George RR. Martin’s book Fire & Blood which tells the story of House Targaryen and their civil war that took place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

The Tales Of Dunk And Egg

HBO Reportedly Developing Another ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel

Although this series hasn’t been officially confirmed, according to Variety, the show is currently in development at HBO. Dunk and Egg follows the adventures of a knight called Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk), and his squire Aegon V Targaryen (Egg). The show is set 90 years before the original Game of Thrones show.

An Animated Drama

In January of this year, The Hollywood Reporter got an insider scoop that an “adult-leaning” animated GoT series is in the early stages of development at HBO. Although it’s been reported that the studio has met with some writers, no official deal has been made.
