In less than 12 months, Ghana has recorded more than 70,000 COVID-19 infections.

In March 2020, Ghana recorded its first 2 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

When the news broke, it sent shock waves in the country and it made many anxious.

The tension grew and eventually, President Akufo-Addo announced a partial lockdown in parts of the country.

We came out of lockdown, as the cases begun to fall.

At some point, the country had a little over 500 active cases.

Now that has skyrocketed to more than 6000 active cases.

449 people have lost their lives to COVID-19 complications.

With confirmed cases averaging 700 cases per day in the last couple of days, various groups have called for tougher restrictions to be imposed by President Akufo-Addo.

For now, it’s just a ban on some social activities such as parties and weddings.
