If you’re at this point where you have low energy levels, a lack of motivation to the point where getting out of bed can be a struggle that you are fighting each morning prior to work, just know that you’re not the only one experiencing this and you’ll find your way eventually. Here are things to do and remember when you feel like you’re stuck at one place.
1. Embrace the feeling
Feeling stuck is a natural feeling that we all experience whether in our work life, a relationship, or in our education. Life can be difficult and once in a while, you may endure periods where you feel down and nothing seems to be working. Once you embrace this feeling, you’re on your way to breaking out of the cycle.
2. Consider this as a sign for change
If you’re feeling stuck, maybe it’s because you’re tired of the monotony. You wake up and it’s the same things over and over and over again; if you feel stuck, it’s because you’re ready for change. If you are not excited about your work, it’s probably time to finally do something to change it.
3. Focus on small steps
Making huge changes can be terrifying so if you can, take it little by little. Consistent small steps end up in being big. Make a list of tiny ways you can get closer to your goal and start implementing them one after the other.
4. Talk to someone
A problem shared is half solved. Confide in a friend and let them know what’s going on with you. When we are vulnerable with people we trust, we create movement and open up the door to new possibilities. Who knows? Maybe the friend will have a job opportunity for you.
5. Distract yourself a bit
Sometimes all you need is a little distraction. Do something outside your work for a bit to help you get out of your own head. If you are feeling stuck in a particular area of your life, try to step away from that area for a moment.
