Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, has disclosed that 15 Members of Parliament have tested positive for COVID-19.
He also revealed that 56 staff of the parliamentary service have tested positive for the virus.
In light of the newly recorded cases in Parliament, the Speaker indicated that the House, from next week, will sit only twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), as part of measures to curb the spread of the virus.
COVID-19 cases in Ghana
Ghana has recorded 777 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of active cases to 5,786. This is according to an update from the Ghana Health Service on Thursday, February 4, 2021.
GHS also disclosed that 9 new deaths have been recorded, increasing the death toll to 433.
