Ghana Police Provides New Details After Its Commander Reportedly Committed Suicide

News from the Ghana Police Service is confirming a possible suicide of a District Commander of the service.

Superintendent Cyprian Zenge was found dead with a gunshot wound at his residence.

Police officers found him sitting in a chair with the gunshot wound on his forehead.

His government issued pistol was also found lying on the floor next to him alongside what the police is considering as a suicide note.

A statement from the Police.

The police did not share what the Commander wrote in his note, however, several media reports claim that he wrote “I am fed up” in the said note.

This issue will bring to bare what existing counseling structures, if any, exists in the organizational structure of the Ghana Police Service and how to prevent the next officer from taking his or her own life.
