Today, Ghanaians joined the family of the late Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings to give the former President a befitting funeral and burial.

He passed away last November at the age of 73.

At his funeral today, tributes were paid to the man credited as the founder of the 4th Republic of Ghana.

One of the many iconic moments in the ceremony was the solemn yet powerful performance from the musician Irene Logan.

Irene performed the iconic song “The Impossible Dream (The Quest).”

The popular song was composed by Mitch Leigh, with lyrics written by Joe Darion.

Since 1965, the song has been performed by a lot of iconic musicians including JJ Rawlings’ favorite musician, Elvis Presley.

More recently, it has been performed by Josh Groban, Jennifer Hudson and others.

Irene’s rendintion of the song, is equally iconic and memorable.
