A few days ago, Mckingtorch Makafui Awuku, the CEO of Mckingtorch Africa, announced that he was undertaking a project with Children of the Light (an NGO) to manufacture teaching and sleeping mats for the homeless, especially kayaye women and their kids.

He decided to use upcycled pure water sachet for the mats.

Mr Awuku, however, called on benevolent people to support the the project.

After putting out the call, Ahwenepankasa Ama Frema Opoku-Dapaah (a fashion designer) reached out to Mr Awuku to donate towards the project.

She donated upcycled pure water sachets and a industrial sewing machine, to make the mats.
