UG Students To Demonstrate Over Double-Track System

A group known as “Concerned Students of the University of Ghana Legon” has threatened to embark on a demonstration over the university’s decision to roll out a modular system (double-track system) for the 2020/2021 academic year.

According to a poster that has been shared on social media, the demonstration will take place at the main entrance of the University at 8 am on January 8, 2021.

An inscription on the poster reads:

“We rage! The management of UG clearly doesn’t care about our opinions the students of UG are against the double-track system. Enough is Enough!!!”

The demonstration is also been carried out on social media with the hashtag #legondemonstration.

Meanwhile, management of the University of Ghana, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu is currently having a meeting with student leaders today, Friday, January 8, 2021, on matters in relation to the modular system that the University wants to implement.
