Season four of TV3’s Date Rush was premiered on Sunday, January 3, 2020. However, the host of last year’s edition, Nii Kpakpo Thompson will not be on the show for this season, as he has been replaced with Giovani Caleb.
The decision to replace Nii Kpakpo with Giovani did not please fans of the show, as they demanded a reason for the switch.
With people asking why he was not going to be the host of the new season of the show, Nii Kpakpo took to Twitter to give an explanation.
“I have received loads of questions from every corner about me not being on Date Rush. Unfortunately, this season, the producers decided to go with another host. I’ll see you guys on another platform. I love you all,” he wrote.
About Date Rush:
Date Rush is a dating reality show produced by Adesa Production Limited of the Media General Group, with Rush Energy Drink as the headline sponsor.
The show airs on TV3 Network every Sunday at 8:00 pm.
Date Rush was created in response to the need to support young Ghanaians looking for a platform to meet, connect and build relationships that could grow into long-term commitments. It was also created to provide viewers with the ultimate entertainment experience as the plot unfolds week after week.
What the show entails:
Date Rush presents an opportunity for single men to get a date with a lady.
The challenge is for the men who appear on the show to impress a panel of ten ladies with video presentations about them and some dancing moves. Ladies who are then interested keep their rushes (light buzzers) on and those who don’t turn off their rushes. The gentleman finally decides on which of the ladies he wants to go out with.
