After taking the industry by storm and gaining popularity during the later part of 2020, Ghanaian Drill musician, Yaw Tog has surprised fans with a collaboration with UK Drill King, Stormzy.
Yaw Tog has featured Stormzy in the remix of his hit single “Sore.”
A video posted on Twitter by AfroWired, showed Stormzy performing is version of the “Sore Remix” with Yaw Tog on stage at the UPPFEST event yesterday.
Three months ago Yaw Tog alongside O’Kenneth, City Boy, Reggie and Jay Bahd broke the internet with their hit single “Sore” which has gained a lot of popularity in Ghana and beyond. The single drew the attention of the entire world to the growing Drill scene “Asaaka” in Ghana.
Yaw Tog’s Sore has hit 1.3 Million views on Youtube and with the remix the views are set to go up.
Kumasi Drill is basically the Ghanaian version of Drill music. It’s being called Kumasi drill because the movement is being spearheaded by emerging rappers in Kumasi. After listening to more Kumasi Drill, you’ll realise some of the rappers refer to it as Asaaka music which is probably the localized name for Kumasi Drill.
