The United Kingdom is shutting down during the Christmas holidays due to a surge in coronavirus cases that is fueled by a new more infectious variance of the virus.
Since the UK announced that it had found this new variance which is sweeping through its population, a number of countries quickly banned passengers from the UK.
France, Italy, India, Turkey and a lot more others have banned flights from the UK from landing in their airports.
With this development, a number of Ghanaians were expecting a similar action to be taken by the Government of Ghana when President Akufo-Addo delivered his 20th COVID-19 update.
However, the President remained silent over the matter which was odd, especially due to the fact that the President was in the UK just a couple of days ago and should be abreast with the situation.
The only new thing the President said yesterday was that Ghana will get its fair share of the available COVID-19 vaccines.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the new coronavirus variance has been detected in Italy.
Some Ghanaians were expecting some form of a response from the government to the new development.
