A state burial which was supposed to be given to the late former President Jerry John Rawlings has been postponed indefinitely.
The funeral was supposed to take place on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, however, a statement from the office of the former President has indicated that funeral will no longer take place on the scheduled date.
“A new date will be communicated to the public in due course,” the office indicated.
“The inconvenience to all had made prior arrangements for the funeral ceremonies is deeply regretted,” the statement added.
This announcement comes weeks after the Anlo Traditional Council expressed outrage because it was not involved in the funeral arrangements of the former President.
