During November and the early parts of December, there were a number of fire outbreak incidents, including the burning of the Odawna Market.

Today, a number of shops in Koforidua have also gone up in flames.

Items such as jewelries, soaps, plastic materials, second-hand clothing, and toiletries are among the on sale items destroyed by the fire.

While eyewitnesses are blaming electrical fault for the fire outbreak, Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO1), Ignatius Kwamena Baidoo, who is the Eastern Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) told Joy News, further investigation will be conducted to ascertain the cause of the outbreak.
