Columbus Crew SC beat Seattle Sounders 3-0, on Saturday, December 12, 2020, to win their second-ever MLS Cup.
This was Columbus’ first MLS Cup triumph in 12 years and three Ghanaian footballers – Jonathan Mensah, Harrison Afful and Emmanuel Boateng – were instrumental in this milestone of the club.
Afful provided an assist for one of the three goals scored by Columbus.
Mensah on the other hand, became the first African to captain an MLS side to victory in the MLS Cup, making history in the process.
However, reactions of Jonathan Mensah and Harrison Afful after their victory was very special.
First, the two were very emotional after the game, as they knelt on the pitch to give glory to God for the victory.
After that was done, the two Ghanaian defenders displayed some great dance moves as they celebrated the MLS Cup triumph.
As captain of the team, Jonathan Mensah dedicated the victory to the fans for their support.
