La Meme Gang’s RJZ just dropped another song titled “Anaju” after months of silence.
The song titled Anaju, which means “Nighttime” in Akan features one of the best artistes to have on a song’s hook/chorus, Mugeez. RJZ himself mentioned in a tweet that working with Mugeez is a great achievement for him since he’s the one artiste he listened to a lot and learned from during his transition into afrobeats.
In the tweet, he said: “This is how you make a song with your mentor. Dream. Believe. Achieve. @Mugeezxkamikaze has been a big inspiration to me from times then, when I started afrobeats, he was the one I learnt most from, just by listening to him. Goal achieved.”
Anaju is a deeply sexual song, centred around love. Nighttime is usually synonymous with “nefarious” activities so the sexual innuendos are heavily implied on the song and the two artistes leave nothing to the imagination on this almost 3-minute song.
RJZ seems to have gotten the hang of fusing elements of dancehall with his music and the result, a calming yet melodic tune for all you love suckers out there. If you loved “Hello Daddy” you’d definitely enjoy Anaju as well.
